Description
This is a mill building, now serving as a museum workshop, located on the north side and parallel to the tail race at Armley Mills. It dates from the early 19th century and was likely built for Benjamin Gott. The structure is made of coursed squared stone and features a stone slate roof. It is a single-storey range with eight windows on the south side that face the tail race. The windows have thick glazing bars arranged in three by three panes, with the central panes being pivoted, and they have plain sills and lintels. On the north side, there are five windows and a doorway with a plain surround on the left. Inside, the building has queen post roof trusses with splayed braces. This range is part of the original mill complex built for Benjamin Gott and was restored and converted for museum use after 1969.
