Description
Fulneck Shop is a building dating from around 1762, featuring a shop with living accommodation at the rear. The front is rendered, while the sides and rear are constructed from hammer-dressed stone. The structure is two stories high, with the shop located at the first-floor level facing the street. It has quoins and a shaped front gable. To the left of the original doorway is a large shop window, which has narrow flanking lights and a lunette above, resembling a Venetian window with the central light lowered. The original shop window was indeed a Venetian window, as documented in a photograph at the museum. Above the shop window are two keyed oculi that flank an old wooden signboard featuring well-painted lettering. The gables are coped, and there is a stack on the rear gable. The left-hand side of the building has a segmental-arched cart-entry at the lower level, with a single square six-pane sash window above it. This shop is part of the Moravian settlement of Fulneck and is included for its group value.
