Description

The Green is a two-part house, likely originally dating to the 17th century or earlier, with an eastern section probably of the 18th century, but significantly altered with a new facade in the mid-19th century. The house is constructed of stucco, with a pitched stone slate roof. The eastern part is two storeys and has attics. It features raised quoins and stone brackets to the moulded gutter. A central gabled dormer window incorporates a round-arched casement within a plain raised surround and keystone. There are two ranges of sash windows with raised surrounds and moulded imposts. The front door has a fanlight and a raised surround with moulded imposts.

The rear elevation has a range of sash windows, a single 4-light stone mullioned window with flush-framed sashes on the first floor, a 2-light stone mullioned sash with glazing bars, and a 6-light stone mullioned and transomed staircase window. The western part of the house may be timber-framed, with a gable end to the road displaying 19th-century ornamental bargeboards. A side elevation has a single 2-light stone mullioned window with glazing bars. All other windows are renewed, but may occupy original openings, and the window reveals are unusually deep.
