Description
Lower Castle Hill Farmhouse is an 18th century building, possibly older, located on Lumb Lane in Almondbury. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with barn rubble and features a pitched stone slate roof. The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan that includes a barn and is two storeys high.
On the first floor, there are three pairs of two-light stone mullioned windows, although the lights between them have been blocked. The ground floor has later sash windows. The east wing also contains three pairs of two-light stone mullioned windows, with the intervening lights blocked as well. The barn section has planked doors on either side and features king post trusses with arch braces and wind braces.
