Description

LUMB LANE 1. 5113 (North Side) Almondbury Lower Castle Hill Farmhouse SE 1514 44/876 II 2. C18, possibly earlier. Hammer-dressed stone. Barn rubble. Pitched stone slate roof. 2 storeys. L-shaped plan, including barn. 3 pairs of 2-light stone mullioned windows on 1st floor, intervening lights blocked. Later sashes on ground floor. East wing has 3 pairs of 2-light stone mullioned windows, intervening lights blocked. Barn has planked doors on either side, and king post trusses with arch braces and wind braces.
