Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century building on Birchencliffe Hill Road. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, largely rendered, with a pitched roof of stone slate. The gables are coped and supported by cut stone kneelers. The building is two storeys high and features paired stone brackets below the gutter. Continuous sill bands and raised quoins are present. The original design included four ranges of four-light stone mullioned windows; the mullions have been removed from the two central ranges. A central first-floor window is round-arched, with a keystone and impost blocks. Blocked, round oculi with plain raised frames are set into the west gable end. The rear roof slopes down in a catslide fashion, with coped eaves.
