Description

This is a pair of houses, numbers 81 and 83 Huddersfield Road, built in the middle of the 19th century. They are constructed with an ashlar front and have a stone slate roof featuring a moulded eaves cornice and blocking course. The houses are three storeys high, with four bays each. They have first and second floor sill bands. A stone staircase leads to the two central entrances, which are six-panelled doors set within ashlar surrounds and topped with semi-circular fanlights containing glazing bars. Three engaged slender Doric columns support the frieze, cornice, and blocking course above the doors. To either side of the entrances are single sashes set within round arched recesses. Four single sashes are present on both the first and second floors.
