Description

The Railway Viaduct, built around 1845 and again in 1890, is a Grade II listed structure. It consists of two separate viaducts positioned side by side, each designed to carry two tracks. The viaducts are constructed from deep coursed rock-faced stone and feature rusticated dressings. An ashlar string course and coping adorn the parapets. Each viaduct has four semi-circular arches with brick vaults, and there is a large ashlar string course at the springing of the arches. The piers of the viaducts are slightly battered.
