Description
Honley House is a large detached house, believed to have been built between 1780 and 1800, but likely constructed in the early 19th century. It was erected for the Brooke family and features ashlar stonework. The house has a hipped slate roof with two ashlar stacks and is two storeys high. The east facade has three bays and is symmetrical, with a central door that has a rectangular fanlight, set within a Doric portico that includes a frieze, cornice, and blocking course. The windows are sash style with glazing bars. To the south, there is a three-bay, two-storey extension that matches the main building and features sash windows, with glazing bars present only on the first floor. There is also a canted bay on the south side. The interior has been altered, but it is noted to have panelled window shutters.
