Description

This is a row of six houses, numbered 58 to 64 Cowrakes Road, dating from the 18th or early 19th century. The houses are arranged symmetrically, with numbers 60 and 62 slightly projecting forward. They are constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with some parts rendered, and have pitched stone slate roofs. The gables have coping and cut kneelers. The houses are two storeys high, with a band running along the facade. Raised quoins are present. Number 58 retains its original windows, now in contemporary openings. Number 60 features a single three-light stone mullioned window on the first floor, with one light blocked, and a casement window. The ground floor has a four-light stone mullioned window, where two mullions have been removed. Number 62 is identical to number 60. Number 64 has modern windows within openings that match the original design.
