Description
Haigh Cross is a 19th-century monument located on the west side of Crosland Road in Lindley Moor. It is a hammer-dressed monolithic pillar featuring an inscription on one side that includes a coat of arms and the words "Quamby's de Crest 1304." The opposite side also displays a coat of arms along with the inscription "Re-erected by T + T 1808. After being wilfully pulled down - Haigh Cross." The Quarmby family, associated with this monument, were notable figures in the 14th-century Elland feud.
