Description
Nos 46 and 48 Wooldale Road is a house, part of a group, dated 1691. It is constructed of finely dressed millstone grit with quoins and has a stone slate roof with altered stacks. The building is two storeys high. The front door features an arched lintel and a chamfered surround, along with a recent plaque inscribed with "AD 1691." To the right of the door is a 4-light double chamfered window, although the outer mullions have been removed, and there is a later single light window. To the left, there is a 2-light double chamfered window and a later doorway. On the first floor, there is a 19th-century 3-light window that extends above the eaves level. Above the doorway, there is a small double chamfered single light window, and to the right, a 3-light double chamfered window. The rear elevation features various 2-light double chamfered windows on both floors. The right gable includes several double chamfered windows, including a 4-light window on the first floor and a 19th-century four-light window. In the apex, there is a 2-light window and four ventilation holes with false arches.
