Description
Nos 1, 3, and 5 on Scarhouse Lane are a terrace of houses built in the early to mid 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables. The terrace has three rendered chimneys with tabling, and two of these chimneys have decorative coping. The buildings are two storeys high.
On the east elevation, the ground floor has three doors with stone surrounds and one four-light stone mullioned window, which has a modern casement added to the end. There are also two former four-light stone mullioned windows, each with two mullions removed. The first floor contains six three-light stone mullioned windows. The west elevation has various modern casements, some of which are in the original openings.
