Description
Spa House is a former bath house built around 1840 in connection with the Horley Green Mineral Springs. It is constructed from coursed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has an Italianate pavilion-like design, with a two-storey central section and projecting one-storey wings. The central part includes a tripartite window at the bottom and an overarched Venetian window above, both set in a continuous recess. The wings have plain round-headed windows framed by simple pilaster strips at the front and plain doorways on the inward-facing sides. The central roof has a low-pitched gable with deep eaves supported by moulded timber brackets, while the wings have a cornice, with a monopitch roof sloping down to the rear. The left wing serves as the main bath house, featuring a plain stone-lined bath with steps leading down into it. The rest of the interior is mostly unadorned, except for a plain stone fireplace on the upper floor.
