Description

Pex House is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high at the front, and single storey at the rear, following a three-room plan with an aisle or outshut at the rear under a catslide roof. The first cell is set into the hillside and features a two-light mullioned window on the first floor. The second cell has a chamfered mullioned window of two wide lights above another similar window, the ground floor window lacking a mullion. The third cell has a doorway with monolithic jambs and tie-stones, leading to a double-chamfered, three-light mullioned window above another similar window. There are three stacks along the ridge. The right-hand return wall is rendered and incorporates a later dormer extension above the aisle of the third cell.
