Description

The railway viaduct, built between 1848 and 1850 for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company, features a curved design. It is constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings. The structure includes nine shallow round arches, each with ashlar voussoirs and moulded imposts. Additionally, there is a single broader segmental arch to the south-west, also featuring ashlar voussoirs and moulded imposts. It is noted that the three lowest arches to the north-east are currently blocked.
