Description
Russell Chambers is a commercial building located on North Street in Keighley, dating from the late 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a green slate roof. The building stands three stories tall and has six bays, including a rounded corner bay. Panelled pilasters separate the bays, and the corner bay on the right includes a round turret topped with a dome and an iron finial.
The main entrance is round-arched and flanked by clustered columns with leaf capitals, topped by a gabled pediment that has a carved tympanum. To the right of the entrance, there are three stilted-arched windows with moulded surrounds and colonnettes, while to the left, there are two shop windows with upper portions divided by pilasters.
On the first floor, there are two three-light windows and four two-light windows, all with round-headed lights and carved friezes above. The second floor features two four-light windows and four three-light windows. The building is capped with a modillioned cornice and a gabled attic that includes a Venetian window. Russell Chambers is noted for its group value within the streetscape.
