Description
High Stream Head Farmhouse and adjoining barn, dated 1788, may have been rebuilt on earlier foundations. The long range includes a laithe barn that is partly built into the hillside. The structure consists of two builds with thinner sandstone "bricks" in parts. It is two-storeys high with a stone slate roof, featuring console brackets at the eaves, saddlestones, and shaped, thinly cut projecting kneelers. There are corniced chimneys and four-light and two-light flush framed square mullion windows. An outshut is located at the rear on the east end. The barn at the rear, also built into the hillside, has a top loading bay and crown post roof trusses.
