Description

Numbers 8 and 9, along with the attached boundary wall, are two houses, later converted into flats, dating from around 1850 and restored in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of brick with rendered returns, stone dressings, and have hipped slate roofs featuring four side wall stacks and a single ridge stack. They incorporate a plinth, a first-floor sillband, moulded wooden guttering and eaves supported by wooden brackets. The design is two storeys with a six-window facade. The windows are 12-pane sashes with multi-keyed lintels, and the ground floor windows have aprons. The central section features two windows flanked by single doorcases with pilasters and cornices, leading to margin-glazed doors with geometrical overlights. There are also single windows to either side. The returns of the buildings are blank. The interior remains uninspected. A low brick boundary wall with rounded stone coping and two cast-iron gates is attached to the front.
