Description

This is a sewer gas lamp located at the junction of Broomhall Street and Westhill Lane in Sheffield. It dates from the late 19th century and was restored in the late 20th century. The lamp was made by the Webb Lamp Company and is constructed from cast iron, painted red. The lamp stands on a round pedestal with a plinth, which includes a moulded panel on opposite sides displaying the maker's name.
