Description

The James Montgomery Memorial Drinking Fountain is a memorial drinking fountain built around 1875 in Sheffield, dedicated to James Montgomery, a journalist and hymnologist. It is constructed from ashlar and features a square pedestal with a chamfered plinth and a moulded cap. On one side, there is a restored round-arched drinking fountain, and the structure is topped with a cast-iron lamp. The fountain stands on a square base that has an illegible inscription and is accompanied by round-cornered steps.
