Lodge, now house. c1850. For Mark Firth. Rock-faced stone with ashlar and granite dressings and hipped slate roofs with capped central ridge stack. Plinth, sillband, eaves band, moulded wooden gutter and brackets. Large central canted bay window with a central 2-light plain sash with round arches and a central granite column. On either side, a single round-arched sash. To right, in the return angle, a round-arched doorway with impost and hoodmould, fielded 6-panel door and fanlight. Left return has a 2-light plain sash with round arches and granite column. INTERIOR not inspected. An ancillary building to Oakbrook (qv), home of Mark Firth, one of the most important steel manufacturers and philanthropists in Sheffield in the mid to late C19.
