Description

This is a railway overbridge built around 1848, likely designed by John Fowler for the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Company. The bridge is constructed from rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings. It features a single round arch made of rusticated voussoirs and imposts. The high curved spandrel walls are topped with ramped flat coping, and there is an ashlar blocking course. A wrought-iron handrail completes the structure.
