Description
Jordan Lock is a lock built around 1835, which has been altered over time. It was constructed for the Don Navigation Company and features dressed gritstone blocks and wooden gates. The lock consists of a single chamber with recesses for renewed gates. One of the exit walls has been rebuilt in brick. This lock is the least altered among several surviving locks on a new cut created north of the River Don to enhance the connection with Tinsley.
