School. 1837, later additions. For Charles William, 5th Earl Fitzwilliam. Deeply-coursed, horizontally-tooled sandstone; graduated Welsh slate roof, H-plan with addition set back to left in keeping with main range; C19 and C20 additions to rear. Main range: symmetrical facade. Single storey. 5-bay central block; taller single-bay crosswings. Roughly-tooled plinth; quoined and double-chamfered door and window surrounds. Central part- glazed door beneath gablet with finial . Renewed casements to flanking windows, stone mullions removed. Stone gutter brackets. Gabled cross- wings each have Tudor-arched, 3-light, mullioned and transomed window with intersecting tracery and hoodmould; quatrefoiled light set beneath elaborate bargeboard. Ridge stack to each end of main range: transverse plinths each with 5 flues set in line. Ridge ventilator bases. Right return: 3-light window flanked by 2-light windows, mullions remain.

Interior: framed roof with arched trusses. Originally the Girls and Infants School.
