Description

Vine Cottage is a house and cottage that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick that has been painted, with a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and features five window openings on the first floor. There is a one-storey, one-bay addition on the right side.

The main entrance includes a part-glazed door with a segmentally-arched head located at the fourth bay, while there is a similar blocked doorway at the first bay. The other bays have bull-nosed brick sills supporting old iron casements with glazing bars, all beneath flat arches. The addition on the right has a small casement window.

On the first floor, there are similar openings with two-light horizontally-sliding sashes, and there are blind windows above each doorway. The building has cogged eaves, shaped kneelers, and ashlar gable copings. There is a later brick stack at the left end and a similar ridge stack on the right side of the fourth bay.
