Description
This is an early 18th-century house located on the south side of River View, Fishlake. The building is constructed of red brick in an English garden wall bond pattern, with a pantile roof. It is two storeys and an attic in height, with three bays. The front features a cement-rendered plinth. A central 20th-century part-glazed door, with an overlight, is set beneath a flat brick arch. Flanking this door are four-pane sashes, now fitted within widened openings that retain their original flat arches. A two-course brick floor band runs around the building. The first floor contains narrower four-pane sashes; a blind central window has a stone apron with an armorial crest set in a sunken panel. A cavetto-moulded stone eaves cornice tops the facade. On the left-hand side, a kneeler is carved with scroll decoration, and the gable ends have copings. Brick end stacks are present. The rear elevation is similar, with a rendered panel over the central door and gable copings to each end. The left return shows blocked original openings to both floors on the right-hand side, while two attic windows are present - the one on the left is mostly infilled and the one on the right is boarded.
