Description

Glebe Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse, altered and with a later wing. It is constructed of rubble limestone, partly rendered, with stone slate eaves courses to a pantile roof. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two windows on the first floor (one blocked). A lower, two-storey wing is located to the centre rear and is not of particular interest. Quoins are present. The fenestration has been altered; a sash window sits on the right in a cemented surround, below a blocked wood-mullioned window. A casement window is present on the ground and first floors to the left. A rendered external stack is located on the left, featuring offsets and a later brick shaft. Ashlar gable copings are present, with finial bases at the foot. The left return has two original attic window openings with blocked ashlar surrounds, and a similar window is located to the left of the stack on the right return. The interior was not inspected. The farmhouse is notable as being rare for its date in this area, though it has been much altered.
