Description

60 Northgate is a building from the 18th century, possibly earlier, located on the west side of Northgate. It features some evidence of timber-framing in the north gable and is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins. The roof is modern and covered with pantiles. The building stands two storeys high and has two ranges of modern casement windows. At the rear, there is a wing with three bays that includes moulded flush-framed sashes with glazing bars. In the courtyard at the rear, there is a find pump dated 1831 on a cast-iron plate, which has been relocated from Darfiled House.
