Description

The gates and railings located approximately 20 meters south-west of Number 9 the Judge's Lodging in York were built around 1853 by William Walker. They form the boundary to the forecourt of The Judge's Lodging. The structure features a rendered brick wall topped with turned railings that have spearhead tips and standards with mace head finials. The gate posts are fluted columns topped with ball finials, and the gate rails are similar to the wall railings, with stiles that also have anthemion finials.
