Description

The Old Vicarage is a house, originally built as a vicarage in 1732, and subsequently altered. It is located on Mill Lane in Acaster Malbis. The building is constructed of pinkish-orange brick with a pantile roof. The original design was a lobby-entry plan, later expanded with the addition of a range to the rear, creating a double-range plan. The house is two storeys high and has two windows on the first floor. A step leads to a 20th-century plank door. The ground floor features 9-pane tripartite sash windows, also from the 20th century. The first floor has four-pane casement windows, punctuated by a stepped three-course band. End and ridge stacks are present. A plaque bears the inscription "AA / 1732 / AE 65 (?) / sic vos / Non vobis."
