Description

The Whitestone Cross is a boundary stone located on Haxby Road in York. It dates back to the medieval period and is made of limestone. The stone is a roughly dressed, massive irregular block that stands approximately 1 metre high and measures about 1.75 metres long. It tapers from roughly 2 metres wide at one end to 1 metre wide at the other.
