Description
No. 8 Pavement is a house that has been converted into part of a bank. It was built in the mid-19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of orange brick in Flemish bond, featuring stone dressings and a timber cornice supported by brackets. It has a hipped slate roof with a gabled dormer.
The exterior consists of three storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. The bank front on the ground floor connects with Nos 2, 4, and 6. The upper floor windows are 12-pane sashes set within eared architraves, and they have moulded bracketed sills that extend into a sill band. The first-floor windows are adorned with moulded cornice hoods. A prominent eaves cornice rests on slim brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
