Description
The Dying Gladiator Public House is a mid-18th century building located on Bigby Street. The front elevation is rough-rendered, while the sides are constructed of brick, featuring 'tumbled' work on the gable end. It has a modern tiled roof and stands two storeys tall. The building has three windows, with two sliding sash and one hung sash, all of which include glazing bars. The ground floor also has three windows and a modern plinth. The entrance features plain attached columns and displays a realistic sculpture of a dying gladiator on the entablature above. The door consists of six panels. To the left, there is a garden archway designed with Gothic elements. The Dying Gladiator Public House is part of a group with No 45, which holds local interest.
