Description

Woodside Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of brick, which is colourwashed on the front and sides, and features a pantile roof. The original section is L-shaped in plan, with a later 18th to 19th-century extension set back to the right, and a later 19th to early 20th-century infill in the angle to the rear left.

The building has two storeys and three first-floor windows, with the entrance located to the left of centre. The entrance features a recessed 19th-century panelled door with a plain overlight, set within a doorcase that has pilasters supporting a plain entablature and hood, flanked by single sash windows. The first floor has a small sash window above the entrance, with additional sashes under gables that have decorative bargeboards. All the sash windows are 19th-century, consisting of four panes each, set in flush wood surrounds with flush sandstone lintels and projecting sills.

The eaves cornice is stepped and cogged in brick. The left gable is brick coped and tumbled, with 19th-century bargeboards, while the roof is hipped to the right. There is an axial stack to the rear right. The extension to the right has a plain door and single six-pane sash windows on each floor, along with a dentilled brick eaves cornice and an end stack. The interior has not been investigated.
