Description
This stable and pigeon cote, located approximately 40 metres north-west of Waterton Hall Farmhouse, dates back to 1767. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof. The building has a rectangular plan and consists of a single room with an entrance on the south side. It stands two storeys high and has two windows. The stable door is set beneath a segmental arch and is flanked by small segmental-headed windows that have slatted wooden ventilators. The gables are stone-coped and include shaped kneelers. On the right side, there is a segmental-headed opening for the second floor, with kneelers inscribed with the date 1767. The left side features a segmental-headed window on the ground floor and a small opening in the attic. Inside, the first floor contains a full range of brick nesting boxes. The adjoining ranges are not of special interest.
