Description
The building at 7 and 9 Fleetgate dates to the early 19th century. It is a two-story and attic structure built of brick, with a pantile roof punctuated by two dormers featuring sliding sash windows with glazing bars. Decorative brackets are positioned at the eaves. The facade has three windows on the upper floors, with plain stucco lintels above hung sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded cases. The ground floor of number 7 includes a rectangular oriel window with glazing bars, supported by an entablature and cornice. Number 9 has a single window without glazing bars. The entrances now have modern doors, but retain blocked rectangular fanlights with glazing bars and plain lintels. To the left is a round-headed passage archway with rusticated detailing and a keystone. The building is designated as having group value, as it forms part of a group with numbers 3 to 9 (odd), and with number 2 on the opposite side of the street.
