Description

The Mill is an 1875 windmill tower, later converted into a house around 1975. Constructed of tarred brick, it is a tapered round tower of six storeys. The north-east entrance has a 20th-century enclosed timber porch over the original segmental-headed doorway. A datestone inscribed “AD” sits above the entrance. A first-floor entrance features 20th-century glazed doors leading to a 20th-century replacement balcony. The tower has segmental-headed windows; three to the ground and first floors, four to the second floor, three to the third floor, two to the fourth floor, and one to the fifth floor. All windows have 20th-century glazing. A 20th-century parapet tops the building. All original machinery and interior fittings have been removed. The windmill ceased operating around 1954.
