Description
Colonial Chambers is an office building constructed in 1846 by William Foale for Hull Trinity House. It is made of brick with ashlar dressings, and the roof is not visible. The building features two paired and one septuple coped octagonal side wall stacks, a plinth, rusticated quoins, a cornice, and blocking. It stands two storeys high plus a basement and has a five-window range of large 12-pane sashes with flat arches. The central entrance is framed by a moulded corniced stone doorcase with moulded panelled double doors, flanked by two windows on either side. The basement includes a low elliptical-arched doorway on either side, with a rubbed brick head and board doors.
