Description
These offices, located to the left of Boynton Hall, were built in the late 18th century, likely designed by John Carr. The structure is made of red brick and features a graduated slate roof, with a U-shaped plan and extensions at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has a main range of eight bays arranged in a 3:3:2 pattern. The central three bays project forward beneath a low pediment, which includes round-headed recesses that extend through the full height of the building.
There is a boarded door to the left, topped by a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars. The ground floor has unequal hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor features centre pivoted windows, all of which are topped with gauged brick flat arches. The building has a dentilled eaves cornice and a dentilled cornice at the pediment, along with tall axial stacks. It is believed that this building conceals an earlier gabled range, as depicted in a drawing from 1720 by Samuel Buck.
