Description

Markham Cottage is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of George Street. It is constructed of brown brick and features a hipped pantile roof. The west front has three ranges of cased sash windows and a door with six moulded panels, an oblong fanlight, and a wooden surround with sunk panels. The south front includes one cased sash and two blind windows on the first floor, while the ground floor has one cased sash with glazing bars and a slightly bowed contemporary shop window with glazing bars, a fascia, and a cornice, along with a door featuring four moulded panels. The east side has one door with six flush panels.
