Description
Nos 22 to 26 on St Augustine's Gate are a late 18th-century building made of brown brick, featuring a pitched and sprocketed pantile roof. The gable is coped on cut ashlar kneelers, and the structure stands two storeys high with brackets supporting the gutter. The front has five cased sash windows with glazing bars, keystones, and channelled stucco surrounds. The ground floor of No 22 includes a mid-19th-century shop, which is flanked by horizontally rusticated stucco quoins and has a shop window with glazing bars. No 24 has similar quoins, but its shop front has been altered. No 26 features a modern ground floor. At the rear, there is a south-east wing with a tumbled brick gable, which includes one round-arched sash window with glazing bars and one sliding sash window with glazing bars, both located on the first floor.
