Description
No. 4 Market Hill is a building with an 18th-century rear and a mid-19th-century front. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a pitched pantile roof with coped gables, including brick tumbling at the north end. The building has two storeys and three ranges of casement windows with glazing bars. The ground floor windows are adorned with moulded stucco surrounds and moulded cornices supported by long scrolled consoles, while the first-floor windows feature moulded voussoirs and keystones. The entrance door is framed by a wooden surround with Tuscan pilasters and a full entablature, along with panelled reveals. At the rear, the building has a pitched pantile roof with stone coped gables and two ranges of sash windows that have gadrooned keystones and channelled voussoirs.
