Description

The front wall and railings of the Memorial Garden date from the early 19th century. This area was formerly the burial ground for St Mary's Church and was converted into a garden to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The wall is made of brick and is of moderate height, topped with stone coping. Above the wall, there are ornamental iron railings and a set of central iron gates. Additionally, there are two sets of low iron piers on the wall, along with gate piers of the same design, which are dated 1829 and attributed to Gilby.
