Description
Lockington House is a house built in the late 18th to early 19th century, featuring an L-shaped plan. It is constructed of red brick with a colour-washed finish, a stone cornice, and slate roofs. The house has two storeys and measures six by five bays. The main elevation, arranged in a 2:1:3 pattern, includes a canted bay wing that extends the full height of the house to the third bay. A Tuscan porch leads to a double-leaf door made up of six raised and fielded panels, topped with a fanlight that has radial glazing. The windows are sashes with glazing bars and sills, set beneath cambered channelled wedge lintels that feature raised, feathered keyblocks on the first and second floors. The building has a moulded cornice, axial stacks, and hipped roofs. It was formerly the Rectory.
