Description

The south-east wing of County Hall, located on Beverley Cross Street, dates from around 1831 and was originally built as a gentlemen's club. The building is constructed of painted stucco and features an east front that is one storey high and consists of three bays, which are separated by pilasters with moulded caps. The central bay is recessed and includes two Greek Doric columns, a shouldered architrave, and a ten-panel oak door that has enriched beads around fielded panels. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight. There are also two windows with shouldered architraves that extend to a projecting base, along with panels located below the windows. The main entablature is designed in the Greek Doric style. The south elevation has three bays, also divided by pilasters, and contains three blind windows.
