Description
The building is a Rectory, constructed between 1861 and 1862, which replaced an earlier 19th century or late 18th century structure. It is made of brick with stone dressings and has a Welsh slate roof, designed in the Gothic style. The Rectory is two storeys high and features a two-room layout with a wide central entrance hall, although it originally extended to the north.
On the left side, there is a gable with paired mullioned windows on the ground floor, and an oriel bay that is corbelled out above, featuring pointed lights and a trefoil design on the gable wall. The gable has stone coping supported by moulded kneelers. The central doorway is located in a gabled timber porch, with the gable apex advanced on curved struts. This doorway is flanked by paired trefoiled lights leading into the hall. To the right, there is a canted bay with a stone roof and three trefoiled lights. Above, an upper window is set beneath a steep gabled dormer. The building has axial and end wall stacks. Inside, remnants of the original painted interior include some stencilled joists and ceiling beams.
