Description
The east gate to Ince Blundell Hall, built between 1770 and 1776, is a Grade II listed entrance archway with flanking pedestrian entrances. Constructed from stone, it features a central round-arched entrance with imposts that extend into a fluted frieze, an archivolt, and 20th-century gates. On either side of the main entrance are paired Ionic pilasters, with capitals adorned with festoons. The fluted frieze includes a central panel decorated with festoons and rosettes, topped by a pediment. The pedestrian entrances on either side are capped with tented roofs that also have festoons and rosettes. The left pedestrian entrance contains a six-panelled door with fielded panels. This structure is set within a brick estate wall that has stone coping.
