Description
Childwall Abbey Hotel is a public house built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone and features a hipped slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with the end bays being canted. It is adorned with a top drip mould and an embattled parapet. The windows are ogee-headed, fitted with small-paned casements and Y-tracery heads; the ground floor windows also have head finials. The central bay includes a tripartite window with pointed flanking lights and impost blocks. The main entrance features an ogival fan with Y-tracery and flanking pointed lights. The left side of the building has a return of seven bays that are similarly styled. The right return has a later extension that is not of special interest. Inside, the ground floor front room has a stone Gothic fireplace.
