Description
Knolle Park Mews is a former stable block to Knolle Park, now converted into houses. It was built in 1828 and partly restored in 1968. The building is constructed of stone with a slate roof and has two storeys with seven bays. There is a band over the ground floor and a top cornice with a blocking course to the central bays, which, along with the end bays, project forward. The first floor of the other bays is a 20th-century addition. The end pavilions feature ground floor windows. The rear has a courtyard plan. No. 2 occupies the southern range and is attached to No. 1, which is at the southern end of the east range. No. 1 has a pedimented centre above a wide segmental entrance to the former coach-house, with another wide segmental arch to the left of centre, both of which are now filled in with doors and windows, and modern windows have been inserted in the upper storey. The northern range has been entirely rebuilt, and No. 3, formerly No. 4, is completely modern and is attached to 123 Church Road, which occupies the northern end of the east range.
