Description
No. 30 on Allerton Road is an early 19th-century shop built of brick with stone dressings and a hipped slate roof. The building stands two storeys tall and features two bays, including a canted corner bay and an additional bay facing Church Street. It has a top frieze, cornice, and blocking course, with quoins at the left-hand angle. The second bay and the bay on Church Road have late 19th-century shop windows, which are adorned with cornices supported by large faceted brackets and topped with finials. There is a similar entrance situated between these two bays. The first bay contains two round-headed openings—one for a window and one for an entrance—both featuring stone heads. The first-floor windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The canted bay displays a stone shield with a rectangular stone panel above it. Additionally, there are two stone plaques on the first floor, inscribed with "ALLERTON/ROAD" and "CHURCH/ROAD," positioned on their respective facades.
